Why we exist
A museum without walls
The world's most remarkable contemporary dolls live in private collections and artist studios, seen by only a handful of people. We believed there should be a place where anyone, anywhere, could stand before them.
So we built one — not of marble and glass, but of film. Every doll in our collection is captured as an intimate virtual tour: slow, deliberate cinematography that moves the way your eye would move, lingering on the details a display case keeps at arm's length.

Introduction of the Contemporary Virtual Doll Museum
Hi I'm Judy Kronin, designer and creator of the Contemporary Virtual Doll Museum. I am very excited to tell you about my incredible doll collection which exceeds over 2500 dolls. It's truly a diverse collection, encompassing antique beauties, vintage treasures, artists' masterpieces, renown doll companies and rare and hard to find Barbies.
The dolls in my collection have been featured at museums including the Paterson Museum, Paterson, NJ, and the Nassau County Museum in NY. They have been the focus of many lectures at libraries in NY and NC. They have graced the lobby of the NC Country Club and on several occasions they have been featured articles in the Southern Pines Pilot Newspaper.
I am exhilarated to share that virtual tours are the latest chapter for the dolls in my extensive collection. I have created several themed virtual tours, including "Beautiful Brides" "Barbie as an American Icon," " A Showcase of Artist Dolls" "Barbie Christmas Bonanza" and "Reflections of Black History."
Viewing dolls from my collection always heightens the viewer's education about the art as of doll collecting as well as giving them inspirational insights into history and an array of cultures.
